TESTIMONIALS

Dear Jenny & Helen “Everyone loved the recital on Saturday.  Your playing was just wonderful and it was great fun to meet you both.  Thank you very, very much for all you hard work, and for the pleasure you brought to us all.  I do hope that we will hear and see you again.  Our very best wishes to you both.

ALBA ENTRANCED

Our journey took us via the great eras of music from the Baroque of Bach and Mozart, through the 19th century of Nationalism to the music of today and concluding with the Romance of Donizetti.  Fellow passangers in the audience at Glenkens and District Music Club, we traveled through Europe’s music scene of  Germany, Austria and the royal courts to the mountains of Andalouse and right out to the Orkney Islands.  The calming sound of streams, the rousing march of soldiers, the bustrle of cities and the hauntings of night and the imagination filled New Galloway Town Hall on Saturday, September 18 as the Alba Duo entranced us with the music of flute and harp.

Two young ladies whose talents have already taken them worldwide, brought sheer pleasure to a cold miserable night with Helen Thomson’s concert harp, at times leading, at others echoing Michelle McCabe’s flutes.  Their instrumental solos painted particular intense pictures in our minds, especially when lights were dimmed and the alto flute echoed from outside the hall – an exceptionally enjoyable evening.
